Salted Butter | 2 Tablespoons |
Chicken Breasts | 2 large |

All-Purpose Flour | ½ Cup |
Olive Oil | 3-4 Tablespoons |
Beef Broth | 2 ½ Cups |
Chicken Bouillon Cube | 1 or 1 tsp Better than Bouillon |
Soy Sauce | 1 Teaspoon (Can sub Worcestershire sauce) |
Onion Powder | 1 Teaspoon |
Mustard Powder | ½ Teaspoon |
Dried Thyme | ½ Teaspoon |
Dry White Wine | ½ Cup (See notes) |
Garlic | 3 Cloves, Minced |
Cornstarch | 3 Tablespoons |
Heavy Cream | 1/3 Cup |

Directions to Chicken With Mushroom Recipe
Preparation Work
- In a bowl, mix chicken bouillon, onion powder, mustard powder, thyme, beef broth, and soy sauce set aside.
- In another pot make a mixture of cornstarch with cold water in an air-tight jar and place it in a cool and dry place.
- Take mushrooms and clean them after cleaning pat them completely dry if you like you can also make slices of them.
- Cut the chicken into thin slices lengthwise and pound with meat tenderizer, it will plump up the chicken while you cook it.
Cooking of Mushrooms
- Put some butter in a pan, add mushrooms, cook them from each side for about 3-4 minutes, and don’t stir while cooking them.
- To cook them well, prepare them in batches while cooking in the pan make some space between them so that these will be crispier up more.
- Remove from the pot when golden brown put on a plate and set aside.
Searing Chicken
- Before cooking ready the chicken by sprinkling salt and pepper on each side then dredge it in flour and remove the excess.
- Get a big pan, pour in olive oil add three pieces of chicken make sure not to cover all the bottom of the pan and leave some space between pieces.
- Cook it for around 4-5 minutes from each side until it’s golden brown and there is a crust on it. Do this for all the chicken and keep aside the ready pieces.
- During cooking, you can make adjustments to the flame as you need to cook the chicken well. While cooking it’s better not to disturb the pieces so that they can get a nice crust on them and can be cooked evenly.
Deglazing the Pan
- When the chicken is ready turn the flame off and remove the oil from the pan but it will be better to leave brown bits in it that will give plenty of flavor to the sauce.
- Now add garlic and white wine to the pan on medium flame and clean the bottom of the pan through a silicone spatula, let it cook and get bubbles and about 4 minutes you will notice that it is reduced by half.
Finishing the Sauce
- Now add a mixture of beef broth but at this stage, you have to increase the flame a little bit so that it can get a boil and continue to reduce it for about 10 more minutes.
- In the bubbling sauce, pour the remaining cornstarch slowly after shaking it well make sure you stir it continuously and when you see the sauce is thickened then lower the flame.
- Add mushrooms and cream while continuously stirring.
- Add all the cooked chicken from the plate into the pan cover the pot partially and let the chicken cook for 5 minutes more.
- Your chicken with mushroom recipe is ready to serve.
