Ketchup | 1 cup |
White Vinegar | 1/4 Cup |
Brown Sugar, Packed | 1/4 Cup |
Sweet Paprika | 2 Tablespoons |
Olive Oil | 1 Tablespoon |
Chili Powder | 1 Tablespoon |
Garlic Powder | 1 Teaspoon |
Cayenne Pepper | 1 Teaspoon (Optional) |
Kosher Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Directions to Grilled Chicken Thighs
You can get the best result by following my simple and easy steps:
Preparation of the Marinade
- When you start to prepare the marinade firstly pat chicken thighs with a paper towel to dry them.
- You must take a large bowl and add the following ingredients in it:
- Salt
- White Vinegar
- Olive Oil
- Chicken Thighs
- Granular Sugar
- Red Pepper Flakes
- After putting all the ingredients in the bowl you must now mix everything to combine well in the bowl so that coat the chicken pieces with ease when you finish marinating the chicken then place the bowl or if you are using the bag in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours but if you have more time you can increase the time the chicken is in the refrigerator and the best to marinate it overnight.
Make the Barbecue Sauce
- To prepare BBQ sauce for grilled chicken thighs collect all the ingredients and combine the following ingredients in a small saucepan:
- Ketchup
- White Vinegar
- Brown Sugar
- Sweet Paprika
- Olive Oil
- Chili Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Cayenne Pepper
- Salt
- Now put the saucepan on the stove. Cook the mixture. Bring it to a boil. Then lower the heat of the stove. Simmer for about 15 minutes. But make sure to stir often.
- When the sauce is ready. Remove it from the stove. Let it cool for about 10 minutes. Then don’t forget to cover it. Set it aside for later use.
Note: You can prepare the sauce one day before the recipe and in that case cool it completely and put it in the refrigerator when you want to use it simply take it out from the fridge and cool it at room temperature make sure not to heat or boil it.
Grill the Chicken
- Now set the grill to heat in advance at medium to low flame also fix the temperature at 300 degrees F then remove the chicken after fixing the temperature from the marinade.
- Put the chicken on the grill for BBQ purposes then you can cook chicken thighs for about 30 minutes and turn them often so that each piece is cooking evenly from each side.
- In the last 15 minutes brush the sauce on the chicken and when you feel that the chicken is ready now remove it from the grill.
- Put it on a big platter also cover it with foil and before serving let grill chicken thighs rest for about 10 minutes.
