Chicken Cutlets | 1 pound |
Buttermilk | 1 ½ cups |
All Purpose Flour | 1 cup |
Panko Breadcrumbs | 1 cup |
Paprika | 2 tablespoons |
Garlic Powder | 1 tablespoon |
Salt | 1 teaspoon |
Black Pepper | 1 teaspoon |

How to Make Hot Honey Chicken
If you are ready to make honey hot chicken recipe then let’s start by following my simple steps:
Step 1
The first thing is to ensure to set the temperature of the oven to 425 degrees and before baking warm it up, then with parchment paper line the baking sheet, and set it aside.
Step 2
Now it is time to make honey sauce for a hot honey chicken recipe just take a medium bowl and add the following in it then mix to combine well all the ingredients:
- Honey
- Hot Sauce
- Chili Flakes
- Garlic Powder
When ready cover the bowl and set it aside also.
Step 3
Make sure the chicken is dry if it’s not then pat it dry with paper towels take a large bowl now and place all the chicken in the bowl then add buttermilk and cover it then refrigerate it for half an hour.
Step 4
Now prepare your breading station by getting a large shallow dish and add the following in the dish and mix well to combine:
- Flour
- Breadcrumbs
- Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Pepper
Then take the chicken out of the refrigerator and remove extra buttermilk from the chicken put it in the dish and coat it completely with the breading mixture.
Step 5
Now it’s time to bake the chicken, so remove the chicken from the breading mixture put it on the baking sheet, and then bake for about 35 minutes till the chicken is golden brown after 20 minutes ensure to spray olive on on each side of the chicken pieces and you can also check the internal temperature to if it is 165 degrees then remove it from the oven.
Step 6

Using an Air Fryer
If you want to enjoy hot honey chicken full of protein but don’t have enough time then you can make it in the air fryer also what you have to do is simply warm up the air fryer and set its temperature at 375 degrees put the chicken in it and air fry for about 20 minutes or till it’s golden brown but keep in mind when you are putting the chicken in the air fryer basket don’t overstuff it, place the chicken pieces in a single layer so air can flow through each piece easily and if you will the basket your chicken will not be crispy.
