Ingredients of Jalapeno Popper Chicken
Ingredient | Amount |
Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs | 2 Pounds |
Cornstarch | 1/4 Cup |
Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon |
Ground Black Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon |
Low Sodium Soy Sauce | 1/4 Cup |
Water | 1/4 Cup |
Brown Sugar | 1/4 Cup, Lightly Packed |
Garlic | 4 Cloves, Minced |
Jalapenos | 2 Large, Cut into 1/4 Inch Slices |
Directions to Cook Jalapeno Popper Chicken
- Get a bowl and place all the chicken in it with ground black pepper and salt then mix them and coat the chicken.
- Now add cornstarch to the bowl and again coat the chicken well and set it aside till you are ready for the further step.
- Take another small bowl and add Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Garlic and Water then combine all the ingredients.
- Make slices of the jalapenos about ¼ inch and set them aside, if you want a more spicy taste then keep the seeds in the jalapenos otherwise you can remove them to get a normal taste.
- Finally, take a pan to fry the chicken and put olive oil or any vegetable oil in it and warm it up.
- When the oil is ready, put the chicken pieces in the oil one by one and also make sure not to overcrowd the pan as the chicken fries quickly so be sure to turn them in halfway and cook for about 5-6 minutes, don’t cook it completely at this point and take out all the chicken pieces.
- Now increase the heat and warm up the oil up to 350 degrees and then again put the chicken into the oil this will make the chicken more crispy cook only for 3 to 4 minutes then remove the chicken and drain the oil.
- Then take a big skillet and put it over medium to high flame add the sauce mixture and boil it, when it is boiling put all the chicken and jalapenos in it and stir them well to dip in the mixture of the sauce.
- Cook until the sauce is thick and make sure to evaporate all the water while stirring the chicken when it is ready put it on the plate and also garnish before serving.

I highly recommend boneless, skinless chicken thighs for this Jalapeno Popper Chicken recipe as I love to work with chicken thighs and it has a lot of benefits for our health also no matter what cooking method you use, they always come out tender, therefore, I think it is more flavourful tasty, and yummy however skinless, boneless chicken thighs are the way to go in my opinion you can surely use breast meat for this recipe too much as the breast pieces cook faster than the thighs so cut the breast pieces into small chunks to cook them evenly and Chicken Jalapenos will have a more amazing taste to eat.
